SAMUEL MICKLE BAND

Grade 5: Mondays & Thursdays 3:20-4:05 p.m. (Starting in January)
Grade 6: Tuesdays & Fridays 3:20-4:05 p.m.
Grade 6 Jazz Band: Wednesdays 3:20-4:05pm (Starting in January)
Fifth & Sixth Grade Band
Band is open to any 5th grade students and 6th grade students currently enrolled in the band program. These rehearsals will provide the students with an opportunity to improve ensemble playing while building on the skills they learn during their weekly lessons (during the school day). The 6th grade band will perform two concerts (Winter and Spring) while the 5th grade band will perform one (Spring).
Jazz Band
Jazz Band, starting in January, is open to any 6th grade student currently enrolled in the band program. The exception is for piano, guitar and bass players, who can join without being in the 6th grade band. This band will learn the basics of jazz, including playing in the different jazz styles and improvising. The jazz band will perform one concert in the Spring.
